'Without a Word'  48x40
 
As I was driving home one day early this winter, I saw a Clydesdale from the neighbour's farm chilling with a little magpie, both looking at each other, seemingly with fondness. The bird so small, standing almost under the majestic draft horse.
 
How intriguing that the size difference of such creatures posed no reason to feel intimidated, and the horse showing no signs of irritation as the little one gleaned. If I could, I would ask them if they know one another well, or are just neighbours meeting for the first time. Either way, I see patience in the gentle beast, as well as trust, kindness and respect from both.
